Application:
Detect invasion of drones. This can be used for guard of key spots,such as power plant,mansion,buildings,dams,etc.
Guarding the boats and ships offshore.Passive radar based on the bank can track the boats and ships.If some danger occurs, the track is disrupted.So a warning will be sent.The postions of boats and ships can be also be tracked.
Detecting stealthy aircraft. Passive radar has a much larger radar cross section,due to its bistatic intrinsical property.
Watching meteor. It can also be used to watch other phenomena of astronomy.
Monitoring debris of LEO&MEO orbits. Large amount of debris are in low earth orbits and middle earth orbits.With illumination of GEO(Geostationary Earth Orbit) satellites,passive radar can detect these debris.
No license of radio is required. Passive radar uses existed illumination,eg. civil FM broadcast and TV broadcast. It radiates no radio signal,so no license required by authority.
Covert. Because of no radiation of radio and using with civil illuminator, passive radar can not be detected by anyone easily.It silently works.
